COULD YOU BE A CHAPLAIN?
Taunton Team Chaplaincy provides chaplains who serve in:
- Taunton's Magistrates Courts
- Care Homes
- Retail premises
- Offices
- Town centre and open spaces
- Working with the marginalised community
- Taunton Rail station
As well as supporting associated chaplaincies with Reserve forces, Sea and Royal Marines cadets, Air cadets and the Royal British Legion.
The qualifications to be a chaplain include:
- Active membership of a local Christian church
- To be a ‘people’ person with good listening skills
- Satisfactory references from their church leader and someone else
- A willingness to undertake appropriate training
- A commitment to give time regularly at their placement, attend team meetings and pray for the Chaplaincy
- Agreement to wearing at least one item of identifying uniform
- A willingness to have a DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) check where required by their placement
